I am not known to teach frequently. Public speaking has never been my jam. However, the one thing I truly love to be a part of and speak at is The Blush Creative. Hosted by one of my fave planners in this entire city Alexandra MacNamara of Blush & Bowties, this is one event that all creatives would enjoy. This is a workshop for upcoming and established wedding planners and industry folk. It focuses on styling, social media, new wedding planning concepts, well being as a business owner, what goes in to being a photographer and finally what being a floral designer is all about.
Barbara from The Lettering Studio did an incredible job at custom name tags to welcome attendees.
Plate Occasions, provided chargers, glassware, and cutlery for our participates to utilize in styling their table top designs and flat lays.
Paige from Studio Bicyclette spoke as social media guru and branding mentor. Paige focusses on Instagram strategies, brand storytelling, and lay flat styling. Her segment is one of my faves and I always love creating a flat lay of my own. A lot of people ask how I got to where I am on Instagram. I definitely have her to thank for a lot of the strategies I have learnt in order to keep a successful online presence.
As the guest floral design speaker, I lead the class through the shift of floral design, where flowers come from, why they cost what they do and how I got to where I am today. I then designed an arrangement for attendees to experience my design process. The arrangement was later used in their table top styling in which they received professional photos of for their portfolios.
My fave gal pal and photographer extraordinaire, Scarlet O’Neill lead a talk about the world of wedding photography and relationships between planner and photographer.
And finally, the two day workshop concluded with a champagne toast and delish eats catered by Elle Cuisine.
I absolutely cannot wait to meet all the new attendees next year and keep growing together as a wedding community.
