Where do I even start about the Blush Creative workshop! This event was just a dream to be a part of and was full of the most positive energy with incredible creative lady bosses. There is nothing I value more than surrounding myself with positive supportive people and Alex from Blush and Bowties certainly brought the best of the best together to make everyone feel the love.
Teaching at this workshop alongside myself and Alex was the beautiful, talented photographer Scarlet O’Neill and social media guru Paige from Studio Bicyclette. The workshop was held over the coarse of two days and focused on the “new design wedding” and helped established and upcoming wedding planners refine their skills and learn about all aspects of the wedding biz along with securing a strong brand.
Alex from Blush and Bowties hosted the workshop putting every bit of her heart and soul into each detail. She spoke about self care as a business owner, what weddings used to be like and how they are evolving, building a strong brand, table styling and much more. She is an incredibly down to earth gal who makes everyone feel love and support.
Paige Boersma from Studio Bicyclette lead a fantastic segment which gave attendees lots of hands on experience. Amongst many things, she talked about finding your brand and making it cohesive, blogging, Pinterest, Instagram, creating visually pleasing grids and how to properly style flat lays.
Next, I was up for the floral segment. In this segment I helped guide attendees through a little bit of the back ground of what it is like to be a florist, where flowers come from, how floral design has shifted and why flowers cost what they do. To finish off the segment, I then created a centrepiece from start to finish to demonstrate the design process.
Alex then spoke about table styling and bringing a client’s vision and personality to life. From there, attendees were able to select linen and props from Linen Closet and Warehouse 84 to create their own tablescape.
To finish off the workshop Provisions TO brought out the most incredible tasty treats and everyone got to mingle over a champagne toast.
